Privacy

Eigentone is a free page published by PaintedApp, LLC ("we"). It computes the resonant modes of a rectangular room from the dimensions you type and draws them. This notice says what the page does with information about you. The short answer is that it collects none.

What we collect

Nothing. There is no account, no sign-in, no form that sends anything to us, no newsletter and no payment. The room dimensions, temperature and ear height you type, the modes computed from them and the tone you play are all handled by your own browser, on your own device. None of it is sent to us or to anyone else.

Sound, and no microphone

The tone is a sine wave made by your browser's audio system and played through your speakers. The page never asks for the microphone, never records and never listens. Its security policy denies microphone access outright.

Cookies and tracking

Eigentone sets no cookies. It runs no analytics, no advertising, no tracking pixels, no fingerprinting and no third-party scripts. The page's security policy forbids it from connecting to any server other than the one it was loaded from, and it makes no such connection after the first load.

What stays on your device

After your first visit, a service worker keeps a copy of the page in your browser's cache so that it opens without a network connection. That cache holds only the page's own files: the code, the fonts and the icons. You can remove it at any time by clearing this site's data in your browser's settings. The link in your address bar carries the room you typed; it is visible to whoever you share it with, and to no one else unless you share it.

Server logs

The page is served by Vercel. Like every web host, Vercel's servers handle the technical details of each request, such as an IP address and the time, in order to deliver the files and to protect the service against abuse. We do not use those records to identify or follow visitors, and we do not combine them with anything else. Vercel's own privacy policy governs how it treats them.

Children

Because the page collects no personal information from anyone, it collects none from children.

Your rights

Data protection laws such as the GDPR and the California Consumer Privacy Act give you rights to access, correct and delete personal information a business holds about you. We hold none about you from this page, so there is nothing to access, correct or delete; you are still welcome to ask, and we will answer.

Changes

If the page ever begins to collect anything, this notice will change before it does, and the date at the top will say when.
